Tips & Tricks
Psssst ... Hey! Do you want to get the most out of your Elixirs?

Application
We recommend application 2-3 times a day for a week when starting out or if your dog has a very dry nose, then going to once a day or once every other day depending on what your pooch needs!
To get the most out of your elixir, we recommend distractions while it has time to soak in. This could be as simple as putting their favourite treat on a licki mat or playing catch for a few minutes.
You may find that your elixir softens and hardens depending on your storage and time of year. We recommend that you keep it stored in a comfortable room temperature.
But if your elixir does get a bit too soft, place it in the fridge for a few minutes to return it to its semi firm state.
If it gets a little bit too firm, you can simply pop the balm (lid on) in the microwave for five second increments. Do not leave unattended and check to ensure that the balm is not too warm prior to application.

If your elixir dogs melt and harden a few times, you will see some grains across it. This is normal, when shea butter goes through a few heating cycles. To prevent this we could use chemical emulsifiers, but we would prefer not to! So we hope you don't mind if you see some grains!
You may also find that the colour of your balm is slightly different between batches. This is normal and does NOT mean that we have changed the ratio of our elixirs. Occasionally we change our suppliers or brands of our raw ingredients, and usually to a higher quality than previous. We strive for the best in our elixirs as we use them on our own fur children at home.
